Ashley Sharpe-Porter, Ed.D. candidate
Ashley Sharpe-Porter is an Educational Administrator with over a decade of experience in Special Education, secondary instruction, and K-12 instructional coaching. Ashley has a passion for supporting students with disabilities and has dedicated her career to assisting schools and leaders to ensure their educational settings demonstrate equitable conditions for Black and brown students and other underserved communities.
With a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Education with a concentration in Curriculum & Teaching in Special Education, Ashley has worked with some of the top names in the industry, including Teach for America Massachusetts, Wediko, and Uncommon Schools. They are known for their ability to provide high quality learning and educational experiences for students, and have been recognized for their work in closing the opportunity gap. She is now working toward her Doctoral degree in Education at Northeastern University.
In her free time, Ashley hand makes organic loose leaf tea blends, does yoga and tries new cooking recipes, and draws inspiration from these activities for her tea company, Glo Tea Co. Ashley is a Breast Cancer survivor and is passionate about supporting and advocating for communities of color in need and regularly volunteers and donates to causes relating to issues impacting Black people and other people of color, Breast Cancer, nutrition, and child care.
Overall, Ashley is a highly skilled and driven education advocate, with a proven track record of success in special education, secondary instruction and coaching in English, Math, and Sciences. She is dedicated to delivering exceptional results for her clients, and is always looking for new and innovative ways to push the boundaries of her work.
Andrew Kerr, Ph.D.
Andrew Kerr currently teaches Social Studies at Benjamin Banneker Academic High School in Washington DC. Dr. Kerr has a PhD in History from the University of California, Davis. His graduate studies focused on US History, US Imperialism, and Latin American History. He has been in the classroom for the last decade. He taught refugee students in Thailand and Malaysia for several years. In the US, he has taught AP World History, AP Research, US Government, and History of Washington DC.
Cadence Payne, Ph.D. candidate
Cadence Payne (she/her) is a 6th year PhD candidate in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT. She is an Aerospace engineer who designs and builds miniaturized satellites for studying the Earth from space. Cadence has ample tutoring experience where she’s helped over 30 students improve their academic skills and academic confidence. She has previously tutored students in astronomy/astrophysics, electronic circuits (DC/AC), English, writing and philosophy.
Victor Cherubim, M.A.
Victor is a high school English teacher with experience teaching a diverse array of students in Boston, New York, Morocco, and soon, Colombia. He has taught AP and IB curricula to students ranging from grades 7 to 12. Victor loves literature and writing and he's happy to support you with all things ELA. Whether you want to improve your standardized test scores, prepare essays for college or school assignments, work on creative endeavors, or improve your reading and analysis skills, he is here for you!
In 2012, Victor graduated from SUNY Geneseo in New York with a BA in Psychology. He spent the next five years playing music professionally and community organizing in Pittsburgh, PA before taking on a teaching position in Boston, MA in 2017. After teaching AP ELA for two years, Victor moved to Morocco and taught the IB curriculum for two years in Casablanca. After that, he moved to Brooklyn to begin his Master's degree in English Education at Teachers College, Columbia University (expected graduation date: 05/2023), and has been teaching 12th grade ELA in Crown Heights.
Joe Van Deren
Joe is an international high school math teacher turned tutor, passionate about helping you reach your potential. If you are looking to get the highest scores possible on the SAT, ACT or GRE math section, Joe is your guy. He graduated high school as valedictorian and received perfect scores in math on all the standardized tests he took.
Joe graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2018 with BSs in Math and Engineering Science. Since graduation, he has traveled extensively and gained classroom experience working with IB and AP curricula while teaching high school math in Morocco and Bolivia; working at summer camps in Turkey and Argentina; and getting a teaching certificate while living in the USA. Joe has taught a broad range of subjects ranging from AP Calculus AB to AP Statistics to the GRE quantitative exam.
Joe's test scores are as follows: 800 (SAT Math), 800 (SAT Math 2), 36 (ACT Math), 5 (Calculus AB & BC), 5 (AP Statistics). He has taken 2 different Discrete math courses and is using his combinatorics knowledge in the computer science courses that he's enrolled in now.

Jared Smith, M.A.
Jared always encourages his students to ask questions and remain inquisitive about the world around them. His science classroom is the scene of lively discussion and inquiry and he believes strongly that within each student is a curiosity that should be nurtured.
Jared was born in upstate New York but moved to Indonesia at a young age where he spent 17 years. With both of his parents working at international schools, Jared found it easy to follow suit, but not before a stint following his other passion: environmentalism. After teaching math in Thailand, Jared worked as a back country steward for the New York Department of Environmental Conservation. He then moved to Boston to pursue his career as a teacher where he co-founded the chemistry department at Roxbury Prep High School. Currently, Jared works at Brimmer & May School in Boston, MA. and is finishing up his Master's in Biology at the Harvard University Extension School. Jared also possesses a B.S. in Molecular Genetics from the University of Rochester.
Collin Cherubim, Ph.D. candidate
Collin is the founder and owner of International Tutors LLC. He is also a scientist, passionate educator, and artist. Collin received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry with honors from Carnegie Mellon University where he published research in biochemistry and helped teach undergraduate courses. He then moved on to co-found Roxbury Prep High School in Boston where he taught AP Chemistry for three years. Collin then spent two years at the Casablanca American School in Morocco, where he served as Science Department Chair and taught IB Physics and general science. Collin is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Earth & Planetary Science/Astrophysics at Harvard University. He has tutored on and off for the past 8 years, most recently at Brimmer & May in Boston, MA. Collin is particularly passionate about guiding students who aspire to excel in the sciences. He provides students with generalizable skills and tools that they can apply to all STEM fields along with tips to get ahead in life after high school.
